Terms and Conditions

These terms apply when you visit The Radiology Academy website, create an account, use our learning materials or buy a plan. “We”, “us” and “our” mean The Radiology Academy Ltd (company number 12768615), registered at 6 Daylesford Drive, Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, NE3 1TW. “You” means the person using the service or buying a plan.

Please read these terms before using the service. If you buy a plan, these terms form part of your contract with us. They do not limit any rights that consumer law gives you.

1. About the service

The Radiology Academy provides educational question banks, mock examinations, explanations, progress tools and related learning resources for radiology trainees. Features depend on the product and term shown when you buy.

Our materials support exam preparation only. They are not medical advice, a clinical decision tool or a substitute for professional training, supervision or independent clinical judgement. We do not guarantee that you will pass an examination.

We are independent of the Royal College of Radiologists and are not endorsed by it. We do not reproduce confidential examination material. Medical images used in the service are intended to be anonymised.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure and promptly tell us if you believe somebody else has accessed your account. An account is for one person only and may not be shared, sold or transferred.

You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless it results from our failure to protect the service. You must not misuse the service, attempt to bypass access controls, scrape or bulk-download content, disrupt the service, introduce malicious code, or use the service or its content unlawfully.

3. Plans, payment and access

The product, price, included features and fixed access period are shown before checkout. Prices are in pounds sterling unless we say otherwise. Payment is processed by our payment provider.

Your access starts after successful payment and normally ends when the purchased term ends. Fixed-term plans do not renew automatically unless checkout clearly says otherwise. Optional products or add-ons are included only when they appear in your order confirmation.

If a price or product description is obviously incorrect, we may cancel the affected order and refund what you paid. Nothing in these terms excludes a refund, cancellation right or remedy that applicable consumer law requires.

4. Free-resit promise

If you do not pass the FRCR examination covered by your paid exam-preparation plan, we will give you one complimentary extension of that exam-preparation product, subject to the conditions below. This is an access extension, not a refund or a guarantee that you will pass your next attempt.

Eligibility

• You must have bought the relevant paid exam-preparation plan directly from us.
• Your paid exam-preparation plan must be for a term of six months or more. Plans shorter than six months are not eligible.
• You must sit the corresponding FRCR examination during your original paid access period. It does not matter if your access expires before the result is released.
• The purchase and claim must use the same Radiology Academy account.

How and when to claim

Use our contact form within 30 calendar days after your result is issued. Include the email address on your account and evidence from the examining body showing your name, the examination or module, the sitting date and the unsuccessful result. You may redact unrelated personal information. We may ask for further information reasonably needed to verify the claim.

What the extension covers

Once a valid claim is approved, we will extend or reactivate the exam-preparation product you originally bought until the next available sitting of the same examination, up to a maximum of six calendar months from approval. Only one complimentary extension is available for each qualifying purchase.

Exclusions and add-ons

The promise does not apply to free trials, free plans, paid plans shorter than six months, an examination or module not covered by the purchased product, a plan bought after the examination was sat, withdrawal, non-attendance, an incomplete attempt, disqualification or examination misconduct. It is unavailable where the qualifying purchase has been refunded or charged back, or where the account was shared or materially used in breach of these terms.

The extension covers the original core exam-preparation product only. Optional add-ons, including MRA + Anatomy Atlas, are not extended and may be purchased separately for the new period.

5. Intellectual property

We or our licensors own the service and its content, including questions, explanations, annotations, software, branding and page design. While your account is entitled to access, we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use that content for your own study.

You must not reproduce, publish, distribute, sell, sublicense, adapt or commercially exploit our content, except where the law permits this despite these terms. You may not use our content to build or train another question bank, model, product or service without our written permission.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available and its educational content accurate, but we cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free access. We may maintain, secure, repair or improve the service and may update questions and features. We will not remove the main paid benefit of an active plan without a reasonable substitute or an appropriate remedy.

Events outside our reasonable control can affect availability. If a material outage prevents meaningful use of a paid service, please contact us so that we can investigate and provide any remedy required by law.

7. Suspension and ending access

We may suspend or end access where reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law, or respond to a material breach of these terms. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and give you a reasonable opportunity to put matters right.

You may stop using the service at any time. Ending your account does not automatically create a right to a refund, but it does not affect any cancellation or refund right that the law gives you.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.

We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses suffered by a consumer, or for an examination result or professional decision.

9. Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information. We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate and secure the service. We ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies, such as analytics or marketing cookies, and you can change or withdraw that consent through our cookie settings. Merely visiting the website does not mean that you consent to non-essential cookies.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for legal, security or service reasons. The date at the top shows the latest revision. If a change materially affects an active paid plan, we will give reasonable notice where practicable and will not retrospectively remove a commitment that applied when you bought it.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms and any dispute or claim arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live. Any mandatory rights you have under the law of your country of residence continue to apply.
